Lucy Weber is Black Hammer, a superhero from a comic book created by Jeff Lemire and my husband Dean Ormston. Lucy lives in Spiral City and visits the underworld with Skulldigger, another character from the same comic books.

I thought it would be interesting to mix the 2 worlds, ‘superhero’ and ‘pin-up’, and this was the result. It was great fun to paint!

The original painting featured in the exhibition Kapow! at the Cooper Art Gallery in Barnsley 2019. Jeff is a great artist in his own right and I gifted him the Lucy Blackhammer painting for his studio wall.

This limited edition A3 (16.5 x 11.7 in) pin-up print is printed onto archival 250gsm paper, signed and numbered by the artist. Black Hammer Pin-Up Print comes unframed, delivered in a tube.
